I think it’s impossible for travelers who frequent hostels not to imagine having their own one day. The feeling of being surrounded by like-minded adventurers sharing stories, laughs and travel tips is one I’ve always wanted to recreate. Three years ago, while hiking the Peaks of the Balkans with one of my best friends Patrick, we decided we were going to do exactly that. A lot has happened since then, but we never gave up on the dream. Today, this dream has come to life with Hostel Bear Hug located in Plav, Montenegro. We are officially open for our second season May 1st 2024!
We set out to fill a void that currently exists in our home of Plav, accommodation run by backpackers for backpackers. As avid hikers ourselves, Patrick and I understand just how much local advise can benefit your experience when visiting a new place. Our vision of Hostel Bear Hug is to create a community for all adventure seekers visiting Plav. A place where we can share our wealth of knowledge of the Accursed Mountains and give the best hostel experience possible.

ABOUT HOSTEL BEAR HUG
Location was the key factor when deciding where to open our hostel. We are conveniently located 200 meters from Lake Plav, the bus station and markets. In all honesty, it’s the view that sold us. The view on Lake Plav is unmatched and can be enjoyed from our garden or many terraces. The hostel has both private and dorm rooms.
