I think it’s impossible for travelers who frequent hostels not to imagine having their own one day. The feeling of being surrounded by like-minded adventurers sharing stories, laughs and travel tips is one I’ve always wanted to recreate. Two years ago, while hiking the Peaks of the Balkans with one of my best friends Patrick, we decided we were going to do exactly that. A lot has happened since then, but we never gave up on the dream. Today this dream is coming to life with Hostel Bear Hug located in Plav, Montenegro.

We set out to fill a void that currently exists in our home of Plav, accommodation run by backpackers for backpackers. As avid backpackers ourselves, Patrick and I understand just how much local advise can benefit your experience when visiting a new place. Our vision of Hostel Bear Hug is to create a community for all adventure seekers visiting Plav. A place where we can share our wealth of knowledge of the Accursed Mountains and give the best hostel experience possible.

Location was the key factor when deciding where to open our hostel. We are conveniently located 100 meters from Lake Plav, the bus station and markets. In all honesty, it’s the view that sold us. The view on Lake Plav is unmatched and can be enjoyed from our garden or many terraces. The hostel has both private and dorm rooms. We are set to open at the start of June and look forward to having you all! If you would like to make a reservation, fill out the form below.
