Plav, Montenegro and it’s surrounding villages are heaven for any fisherman. Don’t take my word for it. Take the fact that the 25th FIPS Mouche European Fly Fishing Championship was held in Plav in 2019. Plav offers a unique environment for fishing that can only be found here. The three main attractions are the rivers Ljuca, Lim and the largest glacial lake in Montenegro, Lake Plav.
What makes Plav special for fishing is the fantastic environment that surrounds you. Here in this luscious valley you are surrounded by the magnificent Accursed Mountain Range. With towering peaks overhead and refreshing mountain air, you find that Plav has much more to offer than just fantastic fishing.

STYLES OF FISHING IN PLAV
Whether you are a fan of spin fishing, bait casting or fly fishing Plav has trophy fish for every discipline. You will find top tier fly fishing in the rivers Lim and Ljuca. One thing to note that there is only about 3km of fly fishing located at the top of the river Lim.

Spin fishing and bait casting in Lake Plav is best done by boat. There is a motor size limit so don’t expect to be flying around the lake all day on the boat. Most fisherman here use small electric engines or even just paddle out.
